There are still a lot of things I don't like about it, but right clicking to get to vertex/face/edge mode is handy, and I like how primitives start as what Max refers to as editable polys.
Earlier tonight I would have said that I like Max for object/scenery modelling and Maya for organic modelling; however, having modelled a creature in Max, I can safely say that I once again like Max more than Maya - I just tolerate the latter a little better now.
